OUR STORY

THE STORY OF RUSTIC

We — Warren, Deb, Bailey and Ryder Heit — arrived in Coeur d’Alene in 2012. We found ourselves in a small town with an amazing spirit and incredible beauty. Its warm, welcoming community embraced our young family with open arms. We found joy and happiness in Coeur d’Alene – snowboarding the local slopes, wakeboarding on the lake, and walking down Sherman Avenue to enjoy the Christmas lights and fantastic car shows. We wanted to give something back.

OUR BUILDING

Rustic’s building was constructed in 1905. It has been gently renovated to respect its century-old history. Layers of time and dust were removed to reveal its natural roots. Reclaimed wood and metals are used to recreate the warmth and integrity of its time. Look up and you will see the original rough sawn joist and plank ceiling restored to its original strength. A blend of old and new, Rustic is ready for its next hundred years.

OUR FOOD

Rustic was designed to create a fun friendly downtown CDA restaurant serving fresh, delicious, affordable food and drink. Doughs are made daily in-house, hand formed and baked to perfection.  Rustic’s bagels are the best in Coeur d’Alene, boiled the old-fashioned way to produce a yummy chewy texture and delicious flavor.  Rustic’s hangover hash, breakfast burritos, bacon bloody marys and strawberry mimosas have become legendary in the downtown Coeur d’Alene’s breakfast scene. Lunch favorites include panini made on our fresh baked batard sliced and toasted to perfection, giant salads using the freshest ingredients, bacon burgers, NY-style thin crust pizza, french fries, chili and macaroni and cheese.  We also serve in-house baked cookies.

OUR PEOPLE

Rustic is proudly women owned and operated.  Led by Deb Heit and Jayden Vasseur, Rustic focuses on employing and empowering young women to set them on a path to develop into powerful, independent, confident community members. Rustic loves when former team members come back for visits from their colleges or other future endeavors and share their stories about how the crazy times working at Rustic were some of their best memories.  Rustic is hard work and its women kick ass.
